Lonely and housebound?

Could you benefit from some cheerful company, that vital link with the outside world? Our friendly volunteers can visit you at home to provide a listening ear and chat over a cup of tea. Or how about doing a puzzle together or a game of scrabble?

Feeling isolated?

It is hard to make new friends on your own, but you might enjoy going along with your volunteer to one of the many social activities on offer around the town. We could introduce you to a lunch club, computer class or even a Wii fit session!

Recently out of hospital?

Do you need someone alongside to build up your confidence as you get back on your feet and venture out again?

Call and Chat?

It may be that all you need is a friendly voice at the end of the phone.  Our trained and supported volunteers can offer a weekly "friendship" call.

Confused over paperwork?

Form-filling can be stressful. We have volunteers who could help you with official paperwork and forms. If you are visually impaired, we can help with your correspondence too.

Unwell or incapacitated?

It can take a while to recover completely and take on all those household chores again. We could offer some short term help such as shopping. We are flexible and aim to offer practical support in whatever way we can.

Do you need accompanying to a medical appointment?

If you find it daunting going to medical appointments on your own, you don't need to be alone: our volunteers can provide friendly company and support.

Don't know where to turn?

Talk to one of our volunteers and they may be able to give you the information you need or direct you to appropriate help. With your permission we can also liaise on your behalf with Social Services and other agencies or charities. Our volunteers could provide the confidence and moral support you need to get things sorted.
