Grants of up to £3,000 are available to support older Vegetarians and Vegans with limited means. Launched by Vegetarian for Life back in 2010, the fund aims to promote independent living allowing older people to self-care at home for as long as possible and could cover such things as  stairlifts, mobility scooters, cookery courses, or kitchen equipment .  A grant could also cover respite care (a short stay in a care home for a person being cared for at home) to provide a break for the carer.

To be eligible for a grant from the Fund you must be:                          Vegetarian for Life

  • Aged 60 or over
  • In financial need (i.e. with a relatively small regular income and relatively low savings – we follow the limits used for eligibility for means-tested state benefits)
  • A practising vegan or vegetarian.
